Terra Handcrafted is named for our metalsmith / jewelry
designer, Tara, also for “Terra” the Latin name for our Earth. At Terra
Handcrafted & Permanent Jewelry, our mission is to create timeless,
wearable art that celebrates YOU and the beauty of our planet. We craft each
piece with intention and care, offering jewelry you can live in daily. Inspired
by nature and built to last, our jewelry reflects both the resilience of the
earth and the elegance of simplicity, empowering you to wear a meaningful
connection to the world around you.

Our owner and founder, Tara, is a mother of two sweet boys
and is the wife of an active-duty military member.  Tara's roots begin in Appalachia (southeastern
Kentucky), having a mother a seamstress/ textile artist and grandmother as a
basket maker, Tara’s love for art was encouraged and she began dreaming of
having her own shop one day.  After high
school Tara spent her time as a professional whitewater river guide throughout
the southeastern United States before returning to Kentucky to pursue her
science education degree to share her passion for the magnificent planet we live
on.  Tara spent several years as a middle
school science teacher in Kentucky before leaving her hometown with her family
for their first military base assignment in California.  

It was in California during the covid pandemic in 2020 that
Tara returned to her artistic pursuits, ordered a metalsmithing torch, a small
amount of silver, and set up a meager space in her garage to teach herself how
to hand fabricate intentional jewelry that can be lived in daily. Tara is drawn
to the slower, more meaningful, and more sustainable practice of handcrafted
jewelry. “What we wear on our bodies is so much more than just a piece of
jewelry, jewelry has the power to connect us to the world and each other.”  

Tara founded Terra Handcrafted and Permanent jewelry knowing
that others shared this sentiment, that our jewelry serves as a connection to
others or a deeper connection to ourselves. Tara knew that adding permanent
jewelry to her business was the perfect way to grow this connectedness we have
to each other.  To Tara, permanent jewelry
puts the hands of jewelry design into the hands of her clients, allowing them
to select meaningful pieces that are customized for and custom fit to them. The
connection that permanent jewelry brings couples, friends, family, bachelorette
groups, teams etc. is truly an extraordinary experience.  It can also be a personal experience where a
client can build a piece of permanent jewelry with a chain and charms that
represent a significance in their lives or even a memorial to a loved one.  Along with permanent jewelry Tara still creates
handcrafted jewelry and gifts with meaning.

Since California and the little space where Tara
started metalsmithing, her family was relocated to Florida on her husband’s
military orders where Terra Handcrafted and Permanent Jewelry is growing into
the business Tara has always dreamed in The Emerald Coast. We have two locations, one in Destin , Florida
and one in Navarre , Florida. We invite you to visit and have a unique and
